Tenho trabalhado mais a partir de casa do que no estúdio. Como já tenho vindo a dizer, 2017 têm sido um ano estranho para mim. Com pouca criatividade e com muitas barreiras físicas e psicológicas.
Durante os últimos anos tenho tido uma secretária na sala. Recentemente fizemos algumas mudanças no wi-fi cá de casa e passei a ter novamente internet no meu quarto. O que me levou a decidir deixar ter a secretária na sala.

Trabalhar a partir de casa têm as suas vantagens, mas também há desvantagens. E ter um espaço designado para trabalhar é algo que é muito importante. O quarto pode não ser o local ideal para uma pessoa trabalhar, mas no meu caso penso que têm sido uma boa mudança.
Na sala havia o problema de ser um espaço comum. Apesar de gradualmente ter-me desligado da televisão (inclusivo cheguei a ter a secretária de maneira a estar de costas para a TV) sempre que alguém está com ela ligada pode ser um motivo de distração. Uma das coisas que mais gostava de trabalhar na sala era a vista e luz natural que tinha. No meu quarto a vista é para prédios, no entanto tenho luz natural o dia todo. Perdi a vista, mas ganhei os meus quadros de cortiça e outros pontos no meu quarto que estão cheios de ilustração e inspiração. Outra vantagem é poder estar ao lado das minhas queridas estantes e livros (a foto em baixo já têm alguns meses e a estante já sofreu bastantes mutações).

Lately, I've been working more from home than from the studio. As I have been mentioning, 2017 has been an odd year for me. No to a little creativity and with a lot of obstacles (some physical and other physiologic).
For the past years, my desk at home has been in the living room. But since we made some changes in the wifi I got internet again in my bedroom. Which made me make the decision of leaving my desk in the living room and start to work in my bedroom.

Working from home has its advantages but also disadvantages. Have a designated workspace is a very important thing. Although the bedroom might not be the most ideal workplace, in my case it has been a good change.
The living room had too many distractions. Although I barely watch TV, and sometimes I even had my desk in a way I had my back to the TV when the TV is on it's a distraction. One of my favorite things in the living room was the natural light and the view that I had there. The view from my room is apartment buildings, however, I'm lucky to have loads of natural light all day. I lost the view, but I gained my cork boards and other bits and pieces of art, illustration, and inspiration in my bedroom walls. Another advantage is that I'm really close to my bookshelves (the picture below is from a few months back, and since then I've made some changes in bookshelves).


Ainda me estou adaptar a trabalhar nesta secretária, mas para desenhar é fantástica! Tenho imenso espaço para as folhas e todos os materiais que precise. Na imagem não se vê, mas a secretária é em L, o que me permite mudar a local onde tenho o computador consoante o trabalho que esteja a fazer.

I'm still adapting to work in this desk again, but for drawing is amazing!! I have a lot of space for tools and paper. You can't see the photo para the desk is in an L shape, which allows me to change my laptop of place depending on what type of work I'm doing.
